REMINDERS – SAVE THE DATES

FAMILY DAY PICNIC: This year’s Family Day Picnic will be held on Saturday, June 22nd at Ridge Road Park, Field #2. There are a lot of activities planned for everyone. Come out, bring the family and enjoy the day with your friends and co-workers.  Tickets are $20/adult and kids under 16 are free.

RALLY FOR JOBS:  Support Our Unemployed Members at The Rally for Jobs on Monday, June 24th, 2013 from 3:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the Westchester County Office Building, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, NY.

SCHOLARSHIPS: The deadline to pickup applications for the Edward Morrissey Memorial Scholarship and the Fred Wright Scholarship is June 30th. Please call Virginia @ 914-948-3800 for more information.

HOLIDAYS: The next scheduled holidays are Independence Day, Thursday, July 4th, Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd, Columbus Day, Monday, October 14th and Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th. .
Reminder: Public Sector Project Labor Agreements have modified holidays.

SANTORINI WEEKEND: Westchester Fairfield Electricians will have their Seminar weekend in Cutchogue on August 2, 3 and 4. Families are invited. For a reservation please contact Virginia 914-948-3800 if you wish to attend.

DUES EXEMPT:  If you are 60 years or older and have 20 YEARS of CONTINUOUS membership since October 1, 1993 you are eligible for dues exemption. Please send a letter to the Executive Board requesting dues exemption along with a copy of your passport or birth certificate.

For the 7th time members of local Union #3 and the Westchester Putnam Building Trades rallied for jobs at the Westchester County Office Building, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, NY.  Local #3 members were rallying to ask the Westchester County Legislators to pressure to the business community to start private sector projects now to provide much needed job opportunities for the Westchester Building Trades.  Dispite the cold weather hundreds of our members turned out to support this rally.  We will continue to hold these rallies until all of our members are employed.

Monday, September 17, 2012 unemployed members of the Westchester Putnam Building Trades Council marched around the Westchester County Office Building, 148 Martine Avenue in White Plains  The unemployed workers carried signs to bring jobs back to Westchester and handed out leaflets asking the Westchester County Legislators to work with and encourage the private sector to invest in Westchester by creating projects in their own companies to spur the desperately needed employment of Westchester Building Trades.  Local Union #3 held the first rally on August 27th and were joined by the Building Trades for this rally.  Building Trades Unions who participated in this rally were.  Local #3 IBEW, DC9 Painters, Local #40 Iron Workers, Local #11 Carpenters, Local #235 Laborers, Local #60 Laborers, Local #137 Operating engineers, Local #91 Asbestos workers, Local #456 Teamsters, Local #6 Bricklayers and Members of the Construction Industry Council.  We thank all who participated to make this rally a success.

 

A Time To Invest in Westchester's Unemployed

Business Manager Christopher Erikson led a contingent of unemployed Westchester Local #3 Electricians in a Rally on August 27, 2012 at the Westchester County Office Building, White Plains, New York to ask the Westchester County Legislators to work with and encourage the private sector to start projects now to help unemployed members of Local #3 and the Building Trades get desperately needed jobs. Investments by the private sector will better the entire Westchester Community by putting unemployed men and women back to work, spending their paychecks locally, providing for their families and paying much needed taxes to our local communities
