Members with 50 Plus Years Recognized At Annual Luncheon

On June 11, 2007, over 434 members and their guests were in attendance to be recognized for their many years of service to Local 3, IBEW. The annual luncheon held at the Electric Industry Center Auditorium, recognized the hard work, dedication and volunteerism that is the hallmark of Local 3 members.

The members were greeted by the elected officers and officials as they entered the auditorium. The event highlighted those members who are active workers and members who have retired. Their attendance cut across every division of Local 3.

Members with 50 Years of Service ­received a gold watch and IBEW Service lapel pin, as well as a scroll commemorating their service to the Union. All others received a check in the amount of $100.00 from the membership as a token of their appreciation.

Business Manager Christopher Erikson, addressing the attendees, stated that “Local 3 has a proud history of bettering the lives of not just electrical workers but the lives of all working men and women. Many of you present today were associates of Harry Van Arsdale Jr. and Thomas Van Arsdale, my predecessors, who led the fight on your behalf. I am committed to continuing the fight for our membership and in improving their lives and the lives of their families.

We thank you for your efforts in making a success of the many programs within ­Local 3. Without your support and effort, the wages, hours and benefits enjoyed by the membership would not have been made possible.”

Among the honorees were 299 – 50 Year members; 133 – 55 Year members; 172 – 60 Year members; 21 – 65 Year members; 23 – 70 Year members.
